I looked in the mirror for the last time, grabbed my bags, looked back at all I had with him. I got Nicole, put her in the car. What was I going to do, I barely had any money? Three months later

"Yes go now I shouldn't have to ask twice" I yelled at the scrawny assistant. I had gotten a job at a firm, guess they said the owner had heard about my good job and he promoted me. I had never met the guy, but today was the day, I had to present a launch for a new design. I was nervous I heard the Graham was critical and was far from a sweet guy. The name reminded me of someone, but i just couldn't put my name on who. I adjusted my black dress again, gosh theses heels were killing me. I let my hair out of the ponytail fixed myself up and got ready to walk into the conference room.

Drakes pov

I wanted to meet the Onika chick if they had been bragging about her so much, my assistant had told me I would love her. I hope this wasn't another set up for a girl friend. The last one they set me up with, left me with just a note taking all the shit I bought her greedy ass with her. I was done with the seriousness of relationships at this point. As the meeting started, I was just sitting back in my chair waiting to once again be unimpressed.

She looked up at me, her cheeks pink as a rose “I’m Onika Maraj head of the Fashion Department or your fashion department I should say sorry, sir.”

“Alright Ms.Maraj let’s see what you have to present” I said

It was hard to focus on what she was saying all I could look at was her face. She was so beautiful, I wanted her right here in front of everyone in the office.

When the meeting ended she stayed after. I just watched as she shook hands with everyone, then she turned towards me.

Nicki's pov

"I just wanted to make sure you liked everything I presented anything you don't like, I will throw out" I said nervously. Why did he have to be my boss, he was so fine, it had been months since I had been touched.

"Well Onika I loved everything, I'd actually like for you to meet me in my office tomorrow so we can talk over details" Drake said

"Yes sir, what time ?" I asked

"Lunch we can eat in my office, do you like Chinese ?" Drake said

"Ok, yes one of my favorites" I said, getting my stuff together to leave. As I was about to touch the door knob

"Onika are you single ?" Drake asked

"Y-yes Mr.Graham" Nicki said She was blushing so bad she couldn't even look up . Every single thing about him was sexy from the curly hair on his head to the smirk he wore during my presentation.


When I got back to my office, I sat there in amazement, I had never wanted anyone so bad than I want him right there.

“Nicki ?” TT said, walking into the office

“Yeahhh” I sighed.

“Girl so I hear Graham was feeling you?” TT said laughing at me

“Really ? He is so cute and sweet!” I said, looking up at her

“Graham is nice looking but sweet? He must like you because he normally gives everyone else hell around here” TT said wide eyed

“I know that's what I heard, but he invited me up for lunch tomorrow, I have to look cute girl will you come and hang out with Nicole while I go shopping?” I asked her anxiously

I hadn't been shopping since Nicole and I moved into our new apartment. I was finally happy the divorce was settled, but a bit disappointed the Joseph wanted no part in Nicole's life, after all I have done for him he can't even take the time to love his own child.

“Yeah girl I would love to spend time with my niecey poo!” TT said happily

TT, and I had reconnected after I got away from Jospeh so now my little Nicole could finally have her Aunt back in her life.

Drakes pov

As I sat back in my chair all I could think about was I wanted to see more of her. So I had called up one of my Secretaries TT to give me the dish on Onika, I could have sworn the name sounded so familiar. She reminded me of my old high school crush, but it couldn't be it had been years and I had moved back out to Canada by now.

I hit the intercom button “TT in my office now”

Five minutes later she was coming through the door. “Yes Mr.Graham”

“Tell me about Onika, you remember that girls Nicki I told you about in high school that I had a crush on, she looks like her, but I know there's no way that could be her TT, it's been years didn't you used to be friends with her in school ?” I said, TT stiffened up, then stared at me

“Wait, after all the years I have been working with you and you fail to mention that you are the Aubrey Graham from high school , the scrawny boy from Toronto? Ohh gosh, I should have connected the dots.”

Well, I thought you knew I'm not that different, I said my name was Drake it's what I went by to school ? But everyone insisted on calling me Aubrey cause they thought it was “cute”. So it is NIcki huh? Now I have got to know the story of how she got up here” I replied, motioning for TT to take a seat.

“Wow wait until Onika here's how her little nerd crush is now her big time rich boss.” TT said, pouring herself a glass of wine

“Wait a fine little thing like Onika had a crush on me? I was a nobody back then wasting time with girls like Jade, and Nebby.” I said and watched as TT rolled her eyes

“ Yeah she did, but because of your little hoes she never went after you, anyways Onika just got out of a bad relationship with her two year old daughter Nicole, gosh my little niecey poo is so cute, but anyways she’s single and newly divorced, she doesn't recognize you yet though, so you might want to mention that at lunch, but Aubrey she's still in a soft place so be nice” TT said finishing off the glass of wine

I looked at her and smirked, oh the things I had planned to do with my high school crush.

The next day

Nicki’s POV

I had picked out a red dress with black pumps, as I fixed the waves flowing through my hair, all the girls stared. I was so anxious I was barely paying attention to what TT had been babbling on about in the car and when we were going shopping. I walked to the elevator, stepped on, closed my eyes and waited for me to hit the top. As I walked back to his office his assistant eyed me down. I walked into his office all white, a clear desk, and a black love seat, with a white coffee table to blend it all together. As I walked closer to his desk, he turned his chair around, looked me up and down. Then licked his lips, I blushed and bit my lip. 

“Soo Nicki huh?” Mr.Graham had asked questionably 

I hadn't been called that in so long, I was so confused. I just stared at him with my head cocked to the side. 

“Oh TT must have not told you, here let this help you’ he said, putting on glasses

It all hit me a smile spread across my face, my cheeks hurt but I didn't care. It was my little nerdy boy crush all grown up. “Aubrey ?” I said laughing 

“Yep its me in the flesh baby” He said getting up taking my hand and guiding me to the couch. 

“Wow its been so long, you grew up, you definitely got finer” I said 

He smiled and just took a moment to look at me, I looked away. It brought back so many memories I had of trying to flirt but failing terribly. 

“I cant believe you're a mom now, and still as beautiful as you were 10 years ago, would you like a drink?” Aubrey said as I nodded yes and he handed me a glass.

“Yeah my baby girl is all I could ever ask for, she looks just like her mommy, even more beautiful” I said surprised he wasn't pushed away by the thought of a kid.

“So Nicki, let's talk business” Aubrey said 

As we talk through business and how the new designs would be produced for the next hour, we couldn't stop smiling and giggling at each other. I scooted closer as he smiled at the pics of Nicole, I showed him. 

Drakes POV 

When she put the phone down, and looked back up at me, I just lost all self control I had. I pressed my lips to hers, she was in shock at first but kissed me back. I wrapped one hand around the back of her head as I laid her back on the couch. When she opened her mouth I pushed my tongue in. I opened my eyes to look into her face, I could see the bliss.
