Girl from the jungle Prt.2

  The dinner 

 I was searching through my closet for a nice dress to wear when I heard a knock on my door. I turned around to see my mother leaning in my doorway.

 "Onika, wear the white one" Carol said

 I picked up the white dress it was knee length, long sleeved, tight fit, and had an elegant twist in the mid section. "Ma its overdoing it for a dinner" I said, looking down

 "No its not, its perfect just don't spill curry on it, and don't worry about shoes you are in the house" Carol said,smiling and walking off.

I went into the shower to think, and get ready, my mind was already lost in my own thoughts of what could happen tonight.

 Drake's POV

 I jumped out the shower, and grabbed out a nice black button down t-shirt, my favorite true religion jeans, and my black timbs, mom said I had to dress nice, this was as nice as I was going to get.

 "Mom I'm going to go meet up with the boys before dinner" I said

 "Seriously Aubrey be back in 30 minutes I don't want to be late" Sandi said, taking the cake and brownies out the oven

 As Drake headed out he got in the Acura and drove down to the deep dark parts of the neighborhood, he felt around for the cash.

 He had all he needed, he stepped out went to knock on the door of an abandoned looking house, it was in shambles the steps barely able to hold his feet paint word away and the covered by wooden boards. 

 As the guy opened the door he was wearing a ski masked and asked "percs, zannies, or oxys ?"

 Already knowing Drakes wish, "Percs, and a bottle of henny, Raz told me he'd have it if I brought extra cash" Drake said, sliding him 200 dollars.

  As the guy took the cash the door slammed shut and reopened where the guy in the ski mask appeared again "Raz wants to see you" the guy said 

 I walked in cautiously, took a seat then walked in Raz , he was 6'5 and dark.

 "Drizzy man, I'm doing this for you one more time, but Ashley heard about you coming to me and she's saying she's going to talk , I can't have her interrupting business." Raz said stroking his beard

 "I'm sorry man look I'm just tryna take my mind off of Jay's death, Ashley and I aren't even speaking she must have people snooping" I said, rubbing my hands together 

 "I got you man, but you know Ashley just tryna keep an eye out for you " Raz said handing me the bottle and the pills

 "Thanks man" I said looking at him , and I started to walk out

 "Yo drizzy" Raz said I stopped and looked back

 "Yeah" I said

 "Man just try and do better for your brother man" Raz said

 "I will" I yelled back and headed back to the car, I took two pills and headed out. Then put the rest of the stuff in my bag, and drove off to go pick up my mom.

 Nicki's POV 

 "Onika go make sure Ciah is ready they are going to be here to 10 minutes" Carol yelled

 I finished braiding my hair and put on a nude lip gloss and walked over to Ciah's room to find him playing with his toys. "Ciah baby time for dinner" I said picking him up and putting on his outfit. 

He's only two and is my little baby, though my mom birthed him, I have been raising him. As Ciah walked out the room, Lani walked through the door with roses, and a teddy bear. 

"Lani" I squealed. "Hey there sis, here's this the flowers are for Ma" He said handing me the over sized pink teddy bear who had a red bow to match, then he kissed me on my forehead It had seemed like forever since I had seen my brother though it was only a couple weeks.

 He had left for some aviation program, and was supposed to be back yesterday but didn't show up until today. He picked up Ciah and handed him a stuffed toy car and kissed him too. 

 "Boy get over here and give your mother a kiss" Carol said, putting down the flowers and squeezing the life out of Lani in a hug.

 "Missed you too Ma" Lani said laughing After our little reunion, there was a knock at the door.

 My heart stopped "I'll get it" I said running to the door When I opened it, I saw Ms.Sandi standing there and Drake grabbing what looked like pans out of their car. "Hi Ms.Sandi" I said shakily

 "Hi beautiful" She responded hugging me and walking in 

 As Drake carefully walked up the steps he stopped staring at me, "Hhhi Nicki" He said looking down

 "Hi Drake do you need some help?" I asked snatching a pan

 He laughed and said "Yeah I guess you got it"

 When we walked in, I showed him where to put the pans, and we headed over to the table. Coincidentally the only seats left were the ones right next to each other, so we took the seats.

 "Oh Drake, this is my younger brother Ciah, and at the other end is my older brother Jelani" I said, pointing to the ends of the table

 "Hi" Drake said quietly as Lani starred him down

 The family said grace and we ate, Jelani pounded Drake with question after question wanting to know every detail. I looked at Jelani to stop and by the end of dinner, he stopped asking questions all together.

 As our mothers took up the plates I looked at Drake, who had seemingly taken an interest in Ciah and was playing with him.

 "Uhh, Hey Drake would you maybe want to come hang with me for a bit in my room ?" I asked only loud enough for us to hear

 He looked at me and smiled "Yeah, let me put Ciah down" he said

 I had noticed he had a bag with him all night so when he was walking with me I couldn't help but ask "Whats in the bag ?" , the feeling was eating at me there was something off about him today 

 Drakes POV

 "Just some stuff to help me feel better, and some of my raps and what not" I said

 "Oh ok" she replied, looking down 

 As we her room, I saw the innocence of a child, she had hot pink blankets, stuffed animals, and a vanity. But then you looked closer and saw the posters of encouraging words. She seemed so perfect I just couldn't see how she was broken. But you could feel the vibe in her room had lost it's light.

 I stood there watching her sit on her bed and then stare at me.

 "You can sit down" She said, patting the spot next to her

 I walked over casually put my bag down and looked up at her, she was shaking nervously, I grabbed her hand she squeezed tightly. 

"You look stunning, I forgot to tell you when I came in" I said, blushing

 "Really ? I thought I may be over did it a bit, but you look handsome as well" She said looking up at me

 "No you look.. perfect, and thank you" I said

 "Thanks, can I ask you something ?" She said, rubbing my hand 

 "Yeah , what's up ?" I replied scooting closer to her 

 "Are you ok ?" She asked I hadn't been asked that question in a while, she was trying to care, but I wasn't truly here.

 "No" came spilling out my mouth before I could say anything else 

 "What's wrong, do you wanna talk about it ?" She asked

 "I uhh well, It's getting close to the anniversary of my brother's death, and I have stumbled deeper into my numbness" I said rubbing the back of my neck with my free hand 

 "Oh, I'm really sorry to hear about your brother. I'm here if you ever need to talk, I may not be the best, but I know what it's like to feel like the world is crashing down on you" She said

 "Really?, thanks Nicki" I replied she was breaking into me

 "Yeah , I didn't have such a great childhood I lost a lot of friends along the way of growing up" She said 

 "Ohh I see, my mom told me you guys came from the jungle, my brother used to hang there" I replied

 "Yeah its not a great place, I'm not surprised a lot of people hang there.. It was bad, but some of the people there a good" She said

 "Yeah my brother used to say something like that to my mom all of the time" I said chuckling

 She smiled "Do you wanna lay down ?" She asked

 I was caught like a deer in headlights "Sure" I replied

 We laid down looking at each other, I could feel the buzz of the pill start to fade, I hated this feeling, I reached in my pocket and pulled out two more, she looked at me. "I uhh take them to help me feel better " I said nervously

 "Feel better how?" She asked curiously

 "Calm my nerves, make me not feel so much pain" I responded looking down

 "Can I try one ?" She asked pleadingly, giving me puppy eyes boy was I a sucker for those

 "Sure, just umm try not to act too strange it takes effect within 10 minutes for me" I said handing her one of the pills

 We looked at each other and took them together. As we laid there looking at each other I could slowly see her eyes to dilate and her face grew a smile.

 "I I think I feel it " She said to me.

 "Yeah its hitting me too" I replied 

 She then began to ask me questions just trying to get to know me, I answered them and asked her the same things. She seemed like your typical girl for the most part besides the fact she was a nervous wreck. I had been wanting to kiss her, I watched her lips move, her eyes light up whenever she talked about her family or friends. 

 "What's something you've done, but regret ?" I asked her

 "I well I used to be in a relationship and I ended up cutting myself to ease the pain when we started going down hill, it helped lessen my anxiety and stuff eventually I stopped." She said looking down 

 "Oh well that's understandable it helped can I see the scars ?" I asked, curiosity struck, I had always wondered what it was like to cut yourself.

  She looked at me crazy, and sat up straight pulling up her dress. "Most of them are on my inner thighs , I'm not trying to flash you" she said laughing.

  I saw each mark, some fading, others looked a few weeks old, I ran my hand over them sending goosebumps between the two of us. I reached closer and kissed a couple then looked back up at her.

 "Just a kiss so they will heal faster " I said, smiling Her skin was so smooth, her scent was intoxicating. She had me in a daze.  

    Nicki's POV

 As his head was coming up Lani walked in "I hope I wasn't intruding on anything but its time for dessert" he said and then rolled his eyes while walking off.

 I giggled "Well thank you" I said to Drake blushing awfully hard, my panties were soaked his kisses turned me on, I knew he was just trying to be sweet, it was innocent.

 "Your welcome, well before we go out there, can I get your number ?" He asked

 "Yeah no problem" I said, taking his and entering my number

 As we got off the bed, I was about to walk out until he pulled down my dress and grabbed my hand. I wasn't sure if it was the pill, him, or both, but I felt like I was on an all time happiness high. He had me feeling like I was walking on air. 

 Our mothers stared at us, both smiling. We both walked over to get dessert he chose cake and I chose the brownie. Then we went and sat down at the table and ate a bite. 

 "So where did you two sneak off too ?" Sandi asked, smiling widely 

 "we we-" I had started to answer, but Jelani jumped at the chance

 "They were in her room alone, up to no good" Jelani said angered by what he saw earlier 

 "Jelani, stop" I said 

 "Stop what the boy is just never mind, I'm not going there" Jelani said slamming down his fork and getting up from the table 

 "What happened in the room ?" Carol asked I was already shaking, now tears formed. It was just another ball of stress that Jelani was forming. 

 "We were just getting to know each other, and Jelani walked in when I was pushing myself up from the bed so the position looked awkward."Drake said 

 "Oh it's ok sweetheart , Jelani is just a bit over when it comes to his sister" Carol said winking

 Drake leaned to me and said "All better Nicki" I looked up at him smiled and nodded. 

 "Well Carol and I are going out to a bar nearby, Aubrey since Jelani isn't taking to you to well you could sleep on the couch. "Nika if Ciah wakes up you know what to do" Carol said

 "Ok " Drake and I said in unison

 As our mothers left, we just went into the living room to watch tv. Ciah was yawning in Drake's arms, and rubbing his eyes. "Baby you ready for a bath and bed ?" I asked Ciah

 "You wanna take a bath with me?" Drake said, chuckling and wiggling his eyebrows

 "No silly Ciah, needs a bath" I said giggling

 "Buwwbles !"Ciah said clapping his hands together

 "Yes baby bubbles" I responded as I picked him up. 

 While I was bathing him I could feel a presence "what Jelani ?" I asked, knowing it could only be him bugging me

 "I just wanna say sorry Nika, I just get worried, you know you were cutting yourself with your last ex and this boy, he isn't normal he has problems just like you .. I don't want this to turn into some sick, twisted love shit." Jelani said

 "I forgive you, we are just friends Lani chill. I haven't been as bad when I'm around him, he makes me feel so calm, and comforted" I said 

 "Well he does seem kinda nice, was he kissing your scars earlier ? or trying to get in your pants?" Lani asked in a serious tone

 "He was kissing my scars he felt bad and saw some of the newer ones" I said, taking Ciah out of the bath and drying him off 

 "Nicki just don't move too fast with him, I'm heading out I have some business to handle, love you Goodnight" Jelani said

 "Love you too , goodnight" I said putting Ciah in his jammies and brushing his teeth

 Drakes POV

 I walked in as she was putting Ciah into bed, I had missed these times I had with my nephew Junior. Ashley was Jermaine's ex and baby mama. I had stopped talking to her when she started dating a big time drug dealer right after my brother's passing. I just didn't understand how you could move on so quickly and to such a fuck up of a man.

 "Dwake night"Ciah said reaching out his arms for a hug I walked over and gave him a hug and a kiss on the head. 

"Goodnight little man" I said then

Nicki looked over at me as she got up and walked over to me, "Come on lets go hang in my room" 

 We headed into her room where she ran off into her closet and came back out in an over sized t-shirt and some booty shorts , she had grabbed me a pair of basketball shorts and exited the room. I quickly undressed and opened up the door. 

 "So I kinda already got over the awkward get to know you hump what do you wanna talk about now?" I asked her

 "I don't know, let's just go cuddle for a bit." she said

 "Alright" I said getting into her bed where she laid her head on my chest.

 "Can you tell me about your brother ?" She asked

 "What do you wanna know ?" I asked, feeling the sadness spread across my body, I couldn't take any more pills or smoke cause I was with her. 

 "Do you have a picture ?" She asked

 I grabbed my out my bag and showed her the screen saver of Jermaine and Junior.

 She smiled "You look like him, in a way , who is the boy ?" She asked The pain was scratching at my heart "

That's my nephew, I haven't seen him in two years, Jermaine has a different father." I said to feel the tears falls 

 "I'm sorry" she said running her hand up and down my chest I sniffled a bit trying to stop the tears.

 "You want to know anything else ?" I asked

 "No he seems like he was a great guy" She said looking down

 "You know after this I won't get to see you until our sessions together" I said looking down I swear my life just seemed to go tumbling

 "Yeah, this sucks" She said

 "Your a really great girl Nicki but I just ask that you don't attach yourself to me, I'm still sick I have a lot of problems" I said looking away from her

 "I'm just going to leave that as the depression talking, I like you, now you're stuck with me" she said looking up and biting her lip

 "Oh really, a new friend I can try" I said looking back at her

 "Well friend in your eyes we will be more before you know it, I'm your girl from the jungle I can rescue you" She said 

 Rescue me ? I just couldn't fathom anyone trying to save me. This situation was weird, everything felt so right, but could I trust it. 

"Oh I'm sure you will be my little savior, I just hope I can do the same." I responded

 Nicki's POV

 I saw the pain in his eyes. The thing about anxiety is that it eats at you makes you question every move before you make it, you feel stupid or crazy maybe even both. You're just deemed as broken and weird, but you're still a person underneath it all. I didn't know how he helped me cope, maybe it was the fact I could attach myself to someone again. He brought me so many emotions I barely knew him. I was too worried about losing him to even know if I could yet alone trust him in these sessions that were about. 

 "Well, I ought to head off to bed and you should too, unless you want Jelani up in here" I said laughing 

 "5 more minutes, please" He begged

 "Fine 5 more minutes" I said

 He sat there looking at me, he just wanted five more minutes to share and soak in our everlasting moment. I started to feel sleep come to my eyes next thing I knew I was out.

Drake's POV

I slid her off of my chest and quietly left the room, I went out to the living room where a blanket and pillow were set up. I looked at my bag in my hand and sat down on the couch. I pulled out the bottle and chugged it. As the tears began to fall I put the half empty bottle back in my bag. I ran my hand over my face many times. 

"Why , god, Why ?" I asked face red and full of tears. 

I heard footsteps and looked to my left where I saw Nicki holding Ciah in tears herself. 

"Come lay with me Drake" She said wiping the tears from her face , and rocking Ciah

I stumbled over to her, we headed off to her bed. She got in and Ciah clutched to her chest. I looked at her rubbing his back. I closed my eyes, then I felt her touch she stroked my cheek. 

"I'm sorry" I kept saying until I felt nothing and drifted off to sleep.

Well this  one is only supposed to be a 4 part oneshot, it might end up being longer. It's something totally different then what I had initially planned for, it will begin to correlate with the song Jungle later. I love the story though, and the song (Which was the idea for my first tattoo that I now have). I also wanted to add that though I correlate using drugs (pills and alcohol ) as useful outlets to get rid of pain and self harm, I don't suggest any of my readers engage in them, depression and anxiety are serious everyday illnesses which effect many people. Drugs and self harm only mask the pain, they don't get rid of it. If you suffer from these and are in need of someone to talk to I'm here, I suffer through anxiety which most often leads to depression. 

Anyways back to a good note, I'm looking for suggestions for a couple new one shot ideas, I have one about Nicki being a naughty maid lol. But hope you enjoyed reading ! Also comment please !!
